COMMITTEES

Action Committee: Chairman: Art McKoy (216.253.4070). Our goal is to serve you. The Action Committee fights against injustices. Call us (1) if you are a victim of crime and would like assistance talking with the authorities, (2) if you want to organize a vigil/memorial because a family member has been murdered, (3) you need help working with the police or getting help or information from the public about a crime, (4) you would like help organizing rallies, searches, contacting pertinent organizations and working with the media if a child or other family member is missing, (5) if you are a victim of police brutality, (6) having trouble with gangs, or (7) discrimination, etc. The Action Committee will do its best to help you. The Action Committee vows to be the voice of the voiceless and the protector of widows and children. You can be part of the problem or a part of the solution. We will make a difference. Will you please join us. We are looking for a few good men and women to join us to make our community a better place for us and our children.

 

The Memorial Wall Committee: Chairman: Judy Martin (216.990.0679). WE ARE TRYING TO REBUILD THE MEMORIAL WALL/WALL OF SORROWS AT 11300 SUPERIOR AVENUE. The Memorial Wall Committee is using the funds it raised to rebuild the Memorial Wall/Wall of Sorrows and to create a Memorial Reflection Garden in the adjacent corner lot. Hip Hop Workshop/Entertainment Committee: Chairman: Al Porter (216.704.50360). If you would like to perform at the monthly Hip Hop Workshops (rap, singing, poetry, dance, etc.). Come & do your "thang." You can be mean, but keep it clean. Hip Hop Workshops: The Hip Hop Show has clean performances so that families & friends can come down & enjoy themselves. Good, clean material, rapping, singing, poetry & dancing. Future workshops will be held at the 843 East 105 Street. Call for specific dates. Chairperson; Al Porter, Dollar Rock, DJ; and Theodore Guerry.

 

Business/Economic Committee: To raise funds to assist Black on Black in its work in the community, organize website. Donations for Black on Black Crime, Inc. or the to Save the Memorial Wall/Wall of Sorrows can be sent to 14660 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112.

 

Political Committee: To educate members and citizens about politics, elections, issues, referendums, etc.

 

Education Committee: The Education Committee keeps BBCI up to date on the educational systems in Greater Cleveland. The Committee also organizes an essay contest each year.

 

Health Committee: To provide information for better health, etc.

 

Voter Education/Voter Participation Committee: To provide educational resources regarding voter registration.

 

Communications Committee: To contact members regarding upcoming activities, events, etc.

 

Youth Committee: Youth group to work with and within the organizational structure of Black on Black Crime, Inc. For further information and to be a part of the beginning,
